    Abstract:

    The problem of tracking a ballistic object in reentry phase is studied from radar observations. A model with highly nonlinear state and measurement equations is considered, according to which three suboptimal filters are designed, namely Kalman filter, Unscented Kalman filter and Particle filter. Simulation results indicate that these filters do well in good accuracy and tolerable computational complexity respectively.
