Noise can lead to some shortterm and longterm health issues, such as sleep disorders, cardiovascular effects, poor mental state, hearing impairment, and thus affects people′s daily lives and work. In order to explore the sources of urban noise pollution, and the spatiotemporal chacteristics of urban noise pollution, researchers have developed various monitoring approaches and monitoring system, most of which are deployed in fixed sites. Therefore, these existing monitoring systems are difficult to chracterize in a large scale thespetiotemporal distribution of noise pollution in urban areas. In contrast, mobile monitoring systems can offer monitoring data with high spatial resolution. This article reviews the current common monitoring system, such as WSNbased monitoring system and smart phonebased monitoring system, and poionts out the future development of mobile monitoring systems.
